About the Mandurah Dragon Boat Club
The Mandurah Dragon Boat Club was formed in 1989 by Ron Robinson and Rod Quirk. The first official meeting was held on 11th July 1989. A committee of management and fundraising was established, with a generous donation from Richard Dick Coleman who sadly passed away in 1995 but his name is on one of our racing boats as a reminder of his generosity and enthusiasm. The club's constitution was formed in November 1991 and affiliation with the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club was established in August 1993, followed by our own incorporation in September 1993.
20 Years on and the Mandurah Dragonboat Club has had huge success over the years, most recently winning the 2001 Masters Womens and Junior state titles.
2003/2004 saw the club in a rebuilding mode and take on the name of the Mandurah Vikings.
The 2008/2009 season saw the end of the club's affiliation with the MOFSC and a move to a new home at the Old Yacht Club in Halls Head.
The club is now entering the 2009/10 season and looking forward to an exciting season and welcoming new members to the club.
We wish all clubs the best for 2009/10 season - see you on the water.
WHO ARE WE? MANDURAH! What are we? VIKINGS!!
